Dr. Sharda G. Sabnis
      

Dr. Sharda G. Sabnis, M. D.,
born in Pune, India, received her Medical degree (MBBS) from Topiwala National Medical College, University of Bombay in 1970. After migrating to USA with her husband she completed post graduate training in Pathology and received the degree of Fellow, College of American Pathologists (F CAP) in 1978. After completing her training she joined the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, working in the Division of Nephropathology, which she now heads since 1994. Her vast experience in renal (kidney) pathology is well recognized both in USA and worldwide. She has more than 80 publications including chapters to her credit. She has kept her professional contact in India by giving seminars to both pathology and nephrology community and is frequently invited speaker.

Although her main interest is pathology, she has shown her ability to participate and contribute in the building the "Energy Efficient Concrete home" that received the prize awarded by the National Capital Chapter of American Concrete Institute and has co authored a publication with her husband Dr. Gajanan M. Sabnis on the same topic.
